5 zlotych treasury note from the Kościuszko Uprising , 1794, series N. C 1., with a 5-digit serial number: 36955
Banknote with the natural “ribbed” texture of handmade paper preserved; a rarer variant, featuring a fragment of a watermark in the paper in the form of the inscription [J HONIG]—the upper portion of the auxiliary watermark of the handmade paper manufacturer, who marked his product with the watermark: J HONIG & ZOONEN.
A well-preserved piece, whose attractive appearance is enhanced, among other things, by the intense raspberry hue of the paper. On the left margin, in the lower part, there is a tear in the paper that has been repaired—as noted in the description on the slab. Visible on the banknote are the letters B S—a chemical security mark—a reasonably legible dry stamp, as well as the very clearly visible signatures of the two commissioners, J. Fechner and K. Reykowski, each executed in a different type of ink.
The condition is confirmed by a PMG grading note corresponding to its condition.
