A 5 zloty tax stamp from the Kościuszko Uprising , 1794, series N. B 1., with a 5-digit serial number: 27564
The banknote is in natural condition, with only a slight horizontal bend in the paper, without any damage to its structure, featuring a beautifully preserved natural “ribbed” texture of handmade paper, no watermark elements visible in the paper, and a very good overall appearance, enhanced in part by the raspberry-colored hue of the paper. The letters “B S”—the chemical security mark—are very clearly visible on the banknote, as is the exceptionally legible dry seal with its natural “sheen,” and the very clearly visible signatures of the two commissioners, J. Fechner and K. Reykowski, each written in a different type of ink.
A very nice piece, considering it is the rarer 5 zlotych denomination from 1794.
