The artist, treating empty spaces as integral elements of painting objects, at the same time allowed them to be given new meanings, depending on what filled the areas unused by the artist. Noticing the role of space in a work of art contributed to redefining its form. The space discovered in the structure of the painting made it not only a creation of the artist, but also of the environment in which it was placed. Multi-part compositions, with cut-out elements, using transparent glass, installations - require the viewer to take up an artistic and intellectual game. At the same time, Berdyszak's experiments are among the most important developmental points of postwar Polish art.
