Sigismund III Vasa, Trojak 1594, Poznań – crown with a lily without a border – very nice
Portrait of the king with an elongated bust wearing a crown with a lily without a border.
A variant featuring the Lewart coat of arms (of Jan Firlej—Grand Crown Treasurer) in the shield, the mint mark “hooks” (of Mint Master Teodor Busch) on the right, the abbreviated date 94 on the left, and the initials I–F (of Jan Firlej—Grand Crown Treasurer) on both sides of the shield.
A variant with the king’s title SIGI 3 ... in the rim on the obverse and the inscription ... POLONIA ... on the reverse.
Condition: 2+
The uppermost parts of the relief are slightly worn, but the coin is beautifully preserved. Vivid relief. Beautiful detail. Luster and plenty of mint mirror finish. Early signs of a charming patina. A beautiful piece.
