Prague 1891 (or after), Prague Caput Regni, Album of photographs by anonymous authors

Huge luxury album, consists of 26 cardboard pages with pasted pictures of views of Prague and its surroundings. Bound in full leather with hardware, blind embossing and black border. Hardware on the corners of the cover, back cover with metal limb/trefoil decorations. In the center of the cover an artfully crafted in metal coat of arms of Prague in the grand version. On the shield in a field of red, golden, silver-blanked city walls with three golden towers covered with golden roofs, with black windows. In the open gate with a raised weapon is a silver armed hand with a sword. The shield of arms is held by two silver crowned lions with split tails. On the shield are three tournament helmets with crowns from which flow a labrys of red and gold. The main jewel is the Habsburg eagle and the right and left jewels are flags in the colors of Prague's districts. Gilded page edges. 26 x 20 photos pasted into cut-outs in cardboard pages and described by hand in French.

The album is undated, but according to the contents it was created on the occasion of the National Jubilee Exhibition in Prague in 1891. It contains photographs of the Industrial Palace (Průmyslový palác) designed by Bedřich Münzberger and Antonín Wiehl - the symbol of the exhibition, and the Main Gate opening the entrance to the Exhibition.
