THE NIGHT
Height: 81 cm.
White, fine crystalline marble. The allegorical figure as a floating female nude, almost weightless, above an oval grass base with cupid's putti. Her abdomen is covered by a tight-fitting shawl that wraps around her back, her left arm is draped over her forehead and her gaze is drowsily directed downwards. Elegant posture, in a highly qualitative, sculptural formation. The putto at the feet of the nude figure holds flowers and poppy capsules in his hands, in keeping with the theme. (1411565) (1) (11)
