He studied painting with J. Mehoffer, J. Unierzyski, L. Wyczółkowski and S. Wyspiański at the Cracow Academy of Fine Arts from 1902 to 1907. Subject to the strong influence of Young Poland painters, the artist remained at the same time faithful to his own assumptions, according to which he created paintings that were conscientious studies of reality. He was fully a realist painter, with an excellent workshop background. He mainly painted views of Cracow, church interiors, market squares and fortifications. When he took up historical subjects he took care in these compositions to make a reliable reconstruction of old views of Cracow. He was interested in historic Krakow architecture. His favorite painting technique was watercolor. He exhibited his works in Cracow and in the Lviv Society of Friends of Fine Arts, in the Warsaw Society for the Encouragement of Fine Arts. In 1925 there was a solo exhibition of his works in Lviv. The Historical Museum of the City of Cracow hosted a posthumous exhibition of the artist in 1948. In turn, the Center for Jewish Culture organized a monographic exhibition in 2001.
