Sculpture depicting a Bacchic group with the figure of a young, barefoot woman in close-fitting robe - facing a cannelled semi-column topped by the smiling head of a Satyr wearing a wreath of vine. At the bottom - a nude putto clinging to the girl's robes.
Sign. on the column at the side: "Clodion".
Clodion - one of the most famous sculptors of the French Rococo - is especially known for his figural groups in scenes featuring figures from the retinue of Bacchus - Satyrs and Bacchantes - prancing, intoxicated with wine and love.
