Biography
He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków under Leon Wyczółkowski and Jan Stanisławski. Wyczółkowski himself considered him his successor, which is clearly evident in Grott’s compositions, which stylistically draw heavily on his master’s works. He painted portraits, landscapes, and still lifes of flowers. He also designed kilims for his own workshop, “Grot,” which operated during the interwar period.
