Juliusz Kossak (1824-1899), "Officer of the Krakus Regiment".

In the foreground, an officer of the Krakus regiment from the November Uprising can be seen wearing a distinctive white oxfords finished with shamrock (a system of loops - so-called Hussar knots, sewn horizontally on the chest, made of thick, usually black or navy blue yarn). The supporting figure is dressed in a dark kaftan (katana) without military decorations, imposed over a light-colored shirt, referring to the Cracow folk costume.
