Biography
From 1902 to 1911, he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków under Józef Unierzyski and Leon Wyczółkowski. He received a scholarship and left for Paris in 1908. He was a member of the Society for the Encouragement of Fine Arts and the “Pro-Arte” group. In 1937, he received a silver medal for his work “In Volhynia.” He painted rural landscapes, cityscapes, and genre scenes. The silhouette of a horse—often depicted while working in the fields—became his favorite subject. This artist’s works can be viewed at the National Museum in Warsaw, Kraków, and Poznań, as well as at the National Library and the Museum of Art in Łódź.
