Talented Ukrainian landscape painter, in whose work one notices the influence of Jan Stanislawski or Leon Wyczółkowski. He captured views from his native lands and distant travels. If I had to briefly characterize Ivan Trush - I would call him a poet of the sun. The sun with its inexhaustible treasure of light effects dominates every one of his paintings..., wrote "Artistic News" in connection with the exhibition of Trusz's works held at the Latour Salon in Lviv in 1903.
The presented work of representative format delights with its decorativeness, subtle nuances in the color of the sky and fondly painted trees, are part of the artist's characteristic style. Nature was a source of constant inspiration for Trush, and the painter himself is considered the first Ukrainian Impressionist. He created atmospheric, nostalgic landscapes with symbolic meaning, painted in multiple shots at different times of the day and year. Perceptible in his paintings is this sensitivity to the intensity of light and an abiding admiration for the beauty of nature. The artist's paintings were created in many places, both on the Dnieper River and in the Crimea, he also painted in Croatia and Italy.
