The only Lithuanian included in the register of the 100 best engravers in the world is Marius Liugaila. He was more famous abroad than in his homeland. Hundreds of exhibitions, numerous international awards for printmaking and ex-libris exhibitions, and even participation in one of the world's most prestigious printmaking exhibitions - the Osaka Triennial. The graphic artist, who painted the Old Town of Vilnius and his wife throughout his life, was known to art lovers, but he did not become a fashionable artist or a frequenter of high society parties, he was not much written about, and there was no art historian who would study his work (Aušrinė Šėmienė.
