Danuta MAKOWSKA b. 1930 Zabludow
Studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw from 1950-56 at the Faculty of Graphic Arts in the studio of Prof. Tadeusz Kulisiewicz. After her studies, she began working at her native academy as a teacher. In 1956-74 she was an assistant, assistant professor and associate professor at the Department of Painting. Since 1975, she led the painting atelier at the Faculty of Conservation and Restoration of Works of Art at the Academy of Fine Arts.
She received the title of professor in 1990 and full professor in 1996.
Makowska's paintings are dynamic and filled with color. The artist finds inspiration in landscapes and observations of nature. The artist conducts her own dialogue with tradition and nature. With keen observation and interpretation, with a natural joy of painting the visible world and a desire to find the right expression for her emotions, she reaches for the traditional workshop, the means of painting that enable her to build an individual world.
