Polish painter, printmaker, sculptor and satirist. He was born in the Siberian taiga. He returned to Poland with his family.He is a graduate of the Leon Wyczółkowski State Visual Arts School Complex in Bydgoszcz. He studied at the State Higher School of Fine Arts in Poznań (now the University of Arts in Poznań) at the Faculty of Painting, Graphics and Sculpture (sculpture studio of Prof. Jacek Puget and Magdalena Więcek). He defended his diploma in 1967. In 1975, together with Michał Kubiak and Janusz Bałdyga, he founded Bydgoska Group - Gallery 1+X. He is a ministerial appraiser in the field of contemporary painting. His works are in the collections of: District Museum in Bydgoszcz, Center for Contemporary Art in Torun, Pharmacy Museum and in private collections at home and abroad: in Germany, Canada, France, England, Denmark, Norway, Austria, Australia, Finland, USA and Japan.He is considered one of the most outstanding contemporary Polish portraitists. Among other things, his portraits decorate the main hall of the City Hall in Bydgoszcz. The author of many solo exhibitions and participant in 45 group exhibitions at home and abroad.Bulla is the protagonist of a reportage and television film, Urszula Guźlecka, "Portraits of creators: With Head in the Clouds." The series of graphics was included in 1981, in a publication entitled: "Legends of the Pałuckie region of Żnin" by Feliks Malinowski.
The drawing works of Ignacy Bulla have been used in many media, including, as the cover of the satirical magazine, "Naked Thursday", in Bydgoszcz's "Facts", nationwide "Pins (magazine)"; "Carousel (magazine)" in international presentations, and as a graphic form for the avant-garde music video "Heaven on Earth", by Jaroslaw Pijarowski, Wladyslaw Komendarek and Tomasz Lipnicki.
In 2016, an album "Bulla - Small Painting Forms" was published by ICB Gallery and Brain Active Records, covering small painting forms and miniatures painted by the artist in 2005-2016.
