Biography
Graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, where he studied under Michał Bylina. He defended his diploma in 1966 and two years later worked at his alma mater as a teacher. He debuted at a moment of breakthrough, when the formation of new figuration could be seen on the Polish art scene. He formed an informal artistic duo with Marek Sapetta, with whom he willingly exhibited his works. He took up subjects related to everyday life and social tensions. Szamborski uses a variety of painting techniques, and does not shy away from combining acrylic and oil paints, which translates into expressive colors in his works.
