Marian Kasperczyk's own back to front technique, perfected for almost 30 years, gives his paintings a unique structure and a third dimension. Marian's first works using this technique date back to the 1980s and 1990s, and have stood the test of time perfectly. The "Peripheral Painting" series, started in 2014, consists of small works, where the artist limits the use of paint to fragments and/or edges of the painting, thus achieving an almost biological effect. his painting gives the impression of an almost neo-independent entity, a force of nature that gradually takes over more and more space.
Marian Kasperczyk was born in 1956 in Oswiecim. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice (1976-1978) and the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow (1979-1981). Since 1981, he has been working and living in Paris. Starting in 1988, Marian Kasperczyk has been working according to his own technique, called "back to front" by the artist. This technique involves squeezing acrylic paint through an unprimed canvas from the other side. Depending on the angle and nature of the incident light, forms of "appearing or disappearing" faces, hands. etc. emerge from the monochromatic canvases. The hidden presence of figuration emerges with less light, while a large amount of illumination causes it to disappear and the painting becomes completely abstract and structural.
