Graphic artist, painter, draughtsman, author of objects. In his realizations, as he himself writes, he seeks his own new vision of space, in connection with the questioning in the 20th century of the previous idea of space understood as a container (statement from the exhibition catalog 2 B or Not 2 B. Faces of Drawing 2011). The artist further notes that: Painting or drawing nowadays is not about showing a specific event, taking place within a predetermined area. The objects used do not exist on a given pre-determined stage, but are meant to suggest a certain concept of space, very often it is a multidimensional, changing space. The essence of artistic activities is to cross boundaries, striving to reach new areas or include new aspects. An example of such a creative strategy, as it seems, can be a well-known series of large-format digital prints under the title: "Pornography", but also the series of painting objects "Parkans" from the early 1990s. Henryk Gostynski was born in Warsaw in 1960. He studied at the Faculty of Graphic Arts at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw from 1980 to 1985. He earned his diploma with honors in Zenon Januszewski's Workshop Graphic Art Studio, and his annex in painting in Jerzy Tchórzewski's studio. He has been working at the Graphic Arts since 1985. For many years he was an assistant to Zygmunt Magner. He is currently a full professor at Graphic Arts and runs the Painting Studio for students in years II-V.
