Katarzyna Gintowt, a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, studied at the Faculty of Graphic Arts, she learned painting in the studio of Prof. Teresa Pągowska. She is also a graduate of the Scenography Study under Prof. Jozef Szajna. In addition to painting, she does drawing, applied graphics, jewelry design.
"What I do," says the artist, "is just a borderline between representational and abstract art. Some paintings are more abstract, others less so. But they are all charged with what I have experienced, what I see, what I feel. For example, I go for a walk with my dog, look at the rhythms of the birches, the rhythms of other trees, and then transfer them to the canvas."
