Hanna Rudzka-Cybisowa's still lifes often served as a pretext for showing the play of colors, in line with the color trend. The painter composed the canvas with vibrant spots of color. She enhanced the light atmosphere of still life with an accent of cinnabar red flowers.
Hanna RUDZKA-CYBISOWA (1897-1988)
Polish painter associated with the Colorism trend. She graduated from the School of Fine Arts in Warsaw under Miłosz Kotarbiński, and from the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow under Ignacy Pieńkowski and Józef Pankiewicz. It became part of the Paris Committee grouping, known as "KP" for short. - hence they were called Capists. Her artistic interests oscillated around the color experience of French Post-Impressionism.
