Graduated from the State Higher School of Fine Arts in Lodz in 1954. He created in the field of painting, graphics, drawing and sculpture. Also author of sound installations. The artist was close to constructivism, as well as conceptual art. In his abstract compositions he used the motif of the square. He often treated it as a module with a marked diagonal. The presented work is an example of conceptual play based on the form of the square. Here we are dealing with a square within a square, except that no square is complete - the sides of one only suggest that the adjacent lines are the sides of another. In addition, the vertical and horizontal axes are the "break" and "shift" lines of the composition, although this procedure, too, betrays the inconsistencies in the arrangement of the elements. All this makes Zielinski's work a puzzle painting, drawing the viewer into a search for the missing parts of presumed forms and continuations of lines in an imaginary space.
