Versatile artist, undertaking in his work both landscape and portrait themes, as well as symbolic motifs. The Lviv painter was educated in Vienna and Munich, and had a studio in Paris. "Evening Song," dating from his mature period, is a somewhat idyllic composition with harmoniously chosen colors. The figures of four young women walking along a park avenue may be a symbol of youth and feminine charm. The painting was reproduced on postcards of the "Krakus" Publishing House around 1915, making it very popular.
