Portrait of Jan Faśkiewicz (Faskiewicz) (1835–?), a nobleman of the Abdank coat of arms, from a family settled in the Kaunas Governorate, son of Ignacy Faśkiewicz and Teresa née Knieczanów, brother of Antoni, a participant in the January Uprising (who died of his wounds on August 26, 1863), Leokadia Minkiewiczowa, Helena Pac-Pomarnacka, Józefa Goryniewska, and Franciszka Mangettowa. Jan was a military doctor in the Russian army, serving, among other roles, as senior physician of the 28th Polotsk Infantry Regiment. As part of his service, he was stationed in Końskie, Staszów, and Kielce, among other places. In 1867, he married Florentyna Zielińska, the widow of Karol Malski.
