Geppert Competition, he took part in the Samsung Art Master competition (Warsaw 2006).
"Wojtek Wroński is an artist of the young generation with an interesting artistic output. He deals with painting, drawing, creates objects and installations, which are a peculiar, ironic commentary of contemporary culture. Vronsky's works are very much rooted in modernity, with all its media glitz and consumerist opulence, and refer to the aesthetics of pop-culture, graffiti. Wojtek Vronsky's objects and collages are created from ready-made elements, most often from children's toys, which, combined, transformed - or better reworked by the artist, change their "nice" character to a more gloomy one, becoming sinister icons of modernity. With ruthlessness, but also ironically, using "nice" icons for the consumer eye - symbols of American pop culture, which are as much coveted objects as toys from Pewex used to be in Poland, the artist exposes the illusory nature of contemporary culture, exposing the falsifications of media-created reality. He consistently complicates its "naturally" pleasing character, constructing ambiguous objects from the all too unambiguous, giving them a "new" nature by transforming their original form. This transposition is interesting in that it involves only a subtle change in the distribution of accents, making the uncanny crawl out of a seemingly tame thing."
