The offered painting by Wojciech Fangor is an excellent example of the versatility of the artist, whose painterly representations, full of color and optical vibration, reach record prices on the auction market. In his posters or drawings, the artist used the same artistic means he used in painting, such as contrasting colors, simplified and expressive figures and lines. Wojciech Fangor is considered a co-founder of the Warsaw School of Poster Design. Fangor's drawings were published in the daily newspaper Życie Warszawy. In addition, he designed theatrical decorations, as well as monumental compositions for public places, such as the interior of the cafeteria of the Służewiec Race Track in Warsaw and the interior design of the stations of the second line of the Warsaw subway. The artist collaborated with architects, including Stanislaw Zamecznik and Oskar Hansen. It was through this activity that Wojciech Fangor became interested in "space", its impact on man, the potential viewer of his paintings, which is the foundation for the theoretical determinants for his "optical" paintings. In 1961 Wojciech Fangor left for the United States, from where he did not return until 1999.
