Tigran Vardikyan (b. 1962 Yerevan, Armenia). Painter, graphic designer, illustrator. He graduated from the High School of Arts and studied at the Faculty of Art Education at the Pedagogical Academy in Yerevan. Since 1991 he has lived in Poland, currently in Bielsko-Biala. He works in painting, satirical drawing, book and press illustration. The artist's orbit of interest also includes designing computer games and toys. He has cooperated with Bielsko-Biala animation studios in the production of decorations and animation of cartoon characters. For more than 15 years he was associated with the editorial board of Dziennik Zachodni, where he became famous as a great caricaturist and author of satirical drawings. Currently, he has devoted himself mainly to oil painting, creating works of fantasy and surrealist themes, and refers in technique to the old masters, among whom he mentions Leonardo da Vinci, Velazquez and Rembrandt as models. He has had more than 30 exhibitions of satirical portraits and paintings, including in Krakow, Poznan, Katowice and Gdansk, as well as in several European countries. His works are in the Vatican collections and the collection of Polish President Bronislaw Komorowski, among others.
