Graphic artist, painter, draughtsman, but perhaps above all author of installations, objects, performances-arrangements of a polymorphic nature. Creator of exhibition concepts. Using a complex spectrum of means of artistic expression, Pawel Nowak attempts to define the field of existence of modern man with his faults, disorders, doubts. Recently, Nowak has returned to slightly more classical forms of imaging - there were paintings and drawings, supplemented by films . Their theme is corporeality, blood, blood circulation, transfusion as a metaphor for life and threats to the essence of humanity. But also the problems of statistics and record-keeping as a contemporary form of entanglement and imprisonment of man in bureaucratic reality. Pawel Nowak was born in 1965. From 1985 to 1990 he studied at the Faculty of Graphic Arts at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. Since 1989 he has been working at the Graphic Arts Department, where he currently runs a painting studio. He was Vice Rector for Artistic and Scientific Affairs at the Academy of Fine Arts for two terms, in 2008-2012 and 2012-2016, and has been in charge of the Academy's Salon Gallery since 2009. He is currently a plenipotentiary of the rector of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw for artistic affairs.
