oil, canvas, 18.5 x 30 cm, inscribed on the back: 'MACIEJ KOZŁOWSKI 2026 | WIDOK Z GÓRKI MIŁOŚCI I | Kozłowski'.
Maciej Kozlowski - painter, graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow (Faculty of Graphics, specialization: animated film). Previously studied applied computer science. Professionally, he is involved in visual areas and programming; he is also involved in ebanistry (a craft-art variety of carpentry). His practice focuses on oil painting developed in a processual way. Paintings are created in dialogue with the canvas - as a result of successive decisions made in response to existing layers, until the painting achieves autonomy. He works on independently prepared sub-paintings. He creates mainly abstractions, often in large formats, based on relations of color, rhythm and structure. At the same time, he develops simplified landscapes, in which he seeks universal arrangements rooted in everyday experience, but lacking a clear location. An important point of reference is the observation of the landscape in motion - especially when traveling, where images appear and disappear, leaving synthetic impressions of form and color.
