Oil, canvas, 40 x 30 cm (thick putty)

An expressive sacred work made with the characteristic technique of THICK PASTEL, in which the paint builds up an almost sculptural surface structure. Dynamic, clear layers of impasto create an intense, three-dimensional texture, giving the painting a strong effect of relief and materiality.
The painting's form is reminiscent of the expression known from Vincent van Gogh's work , while retaining the artist's authorial style. The central figure of Christ was depicted inside the historic St. ParaskevaOrthodox Church in Novitsa - a place of unique spiritual and cultural significance.
The vivid matter of paint, rhythmic putty strokes and intense play of light and shadow give the composition drama, depth and contemplative character, combining the theme of the sacred with a modern, expressive painting language.
Nature of the work: UNIQUE- made by hand
Style: expressive, strong texture, structured surface
Subjects: sacred - Christ, church architecture
