oil, canvas, 35 x 40 cm, signed and inscribed on the rafter: 'PROGRAM SYMPHONY PROJECT | "SEASONS" - FEBRUARY = WINTER' and on the reverse: 'OPUS B-74 - CZYLI | EROTYK LUTOWY - WINTER | PROJECT "PÓTY ROKU" | 11.1974 | CZESŁAW PIUS CIAPAŁO| 35 x 40 cm _OLEJ - 1974'.
God created the world out of chaos. Similarly, the artist organizes the colors in his paintings to obtain a harmonious whole. However, this typically aesthetic whole cannot remain dead. Just as God created man to give meaning to all his work, so Ciapało introduces a life-giving element into his paintings, which in this case is sex. There is unity between the joyful, serene harmony of colors and the erotic subject reduced to a singular shape. This unity here becomes a relation to the world, a recognition of its order and a search for order. The order of the physical reality in which we exist and the biological order, based also on what sex actually is.
