Artur Sudak is a contemporary Polish painter whose work has gained considerable popularity thanks to its unique blend of realism with dreamlike imagery and surrealism. Sudak is associated with the movements of magical realism and surrealism. He is a self-taught artist, a fact he emphasizes in his biography, noting that his style evolved from his passion and personal exploration (he completed, among other things, Larousse drawing and painting courses). He creates in every possible style, though he is particularly fascinated by realistic painting and Romanticism. He seeks traces of the School of Fine Arts—“École des Beaux-Arts.” He is an emerging great talent in painting, as evidenced by his body of work comprising over 2,000 paintings. The artist’s works are known both domestically and abroad. He sells his paintings mainly to private collectors. He most often uses oil on canvas, frequently employing the alla prima technique (painting “in one go,” without underpainting), which lends his works a certain freshness and dynamism.
