Icon of rectangular format, set in a deep, boxy wooden frame (kiot) with a profiled, softly wavy top. The whole is protected by a pane of glass. In the central field one can see an image of Christ shown frontally, in a half pose, with his head surrounded by a radial nimbus. The greater part of the representation is covered by an embossed metal grosgrain, which reveals only the face and hands of the figure. The face has elongated proportions, with large, almond-shaped eyes and a calm expression. The right hand is raised in a gesture of blessing, while the left hand rests on a book, partially hidden under a metal lining. The riza is decorated with a relief ornament, creating folds of robes and a decorative border around the figure.

Icons of the Christ Pantocrator type are among the most important and widespread depictions in the Orthodox tradition. The image depicts Christ as the All-Powerful and Judge, and at the same time teacher and savior, which is emphasized by the gesture of blessing and the presence of a book - a symbol of doctrine and the Gospel.
The use of a metal riscus (shirt) is characteristic of the Russian iconic tradition of the 19th century. It had a protective function, protecting the painting layer from mechanical damage, and at the same time raised the aesthetic and symbolic status of the object by introducing elements of a quasi-liturgical nature. Exposing only the face and hands directed the believer's attention to the most essential aspects of the depiction - the spiritual presence and the gesture of blessing. The kiot, or box-like frame with glass, indicates that the icon was intended for domestic or shrine use. This type of framing protected the object from dust and damage, while also displaying it as the centerpiece of the prayer space.
The presented object is a representative example of 19th-century Russian devotional icon art, combining functionality with decorativeness. The preservation of the original risk and kiot significantly increases its collector value and testifies to the authenticity and integrity of the object.
