Biography
Graduate of the Institute of Design in Koszalin, Master of Arts, long-time illustrator and graphic designer. Her paintings are a synthesis of artistic experience, observation of the world and a consistent desire to simplify the form to bring out the essence of emotions and meanings. In her series - from "Distance" and "Boundaries" to "Between" and "Miscellaneous" - the artist analyzes the human condition, relationships, emotions and boundaries - those visible and those internal. Her works, often reduced to geometric signs, are a reflection on human nature, loneliness, community and the constant search for meaning. Under her brush, a human being becomes both a symbol and a riddle, a piece of a painting puzzle, in which meaning is born from rhythm, repetition and pauses. Deptuła emphasizes that her works resemble a kind of painterly enigma - a code that reflects the artist's personal sensitivity to contemporary digital reality. As she writes, people can be played on, they can be played with, they can be talked about seriously and not quite - and Nowatkowska herself moves between seriousness and irony, sign and emotion, building her own visual language.
