acrylic, oil, canvas, 140 x 100 cm, signed on the reverse: 'Karolina Kruk | 2022'
Painter and graphic designer. A graduate of the State Secondary School of Fine Arts in Supraśl, where she studied artistic printing techniques, and the Władysław Strzemiński Academy of Fine Arts in Łódź. In 2022, she received her degree in graphic design.
In her work, she focuses primarily on painting, treating color as her main means of expression. Her paintings are characterized by an intense, saturated color palette and a free use of form. She combines elements of figuration with deformation and symbolism, creating multi-layered narratives that balance between reality and imagination.
She draws inspiration from landscapes, folk culture, and observations of the contemporary world. Key areas of her interest include the relationship between humans and their environment, the grotesque aspects of everyday life, as well as the emotions and experiences that shape individual identity. Animal and landscape motifs appear in her works, serving as carriers of meaning and tools for constructing personal narratives. Her paintings are characterized by dynamic compositions, vivid color contrasts, and an intuitive approach to constructing the pictorial space.
She has participated in international exhibitions and projects, including “Un Ballo in Maschera’ pelo Chiado, Carmo e Paris,” presented in Paris, Lisbon, and Florence, and the “1066 Bonn Exhibition” at Bonn Paste Up, Warsaw 2026. She is a two-time winner of the Władysław Strzemiński Competition – Fine Arts (2021, 2022)
