Stanislaw Fischer, owner Stanislaw Ludwik Jan Fischer de Wilhelmsbach (born January 27, 1879 in Wieliczka, died April 28, 1967 in Bochnia) - Polish teacher and social activist. He was the son of Edmund, an officer of the c. and k. army, who, giving up his military career, took a job at the tax office in Wieliczka (d. 1886).
He was educated at schools in Wieliczka and Dabrowa Tarnowska. In 1899 he graduated from St. Jacek's Gymnasium in Cracow. He studied Polish literature, Slavonic studies, propaedeutics of philosophy, classical philology, Polish history, philosophy and art history at the Faculty of Philosophy of the Jagiellonian University. Privately, he also studied painting. After graduating, he began teaching at the State Gymnasium in Wadowice, and later at the Polish Gymnasium in Cieszyn. He became the author of works on the revival of Polishness in Cieszyn Silesia.
He taught middle school in Bochnia from 1908 to 1934, and was also involved in the history of the region. He also conducted numerous scientific researches, publishing such studies as The fate of the Kazimierz foundation, The expulsion of the Jews from Bochnia, Casimir the Great and his attitude to Bochnia and the Bochnia area, The history of the Bochnia salt mine, Wiśnicz Nowy, its past, monuments and present state.
During the German occupation of 1940-1944, he participated in secret teaching. In 1947 he was the organizer of the High School of Art Techniques in Nowy Wisnicz and remained a teacher of art history there until 1953. He was also a collector. In 1957 he was the initiator of the Museum of the Bochnia Land, founded in 1959, and was its director until his death on April 28, 1967 in Bochnia. He published in the journal "Materials of the Folk Building Museum in Sanok."
