Biography
He settled in Paris, likely before the outbreak of World War I. He participated in the Parisian salons: the Salon d’Automne (1921, 1924, 1926–27, 1936–37), the Tuileries (1923, 1927, 1936), and the Independents (1925). He painted primarily landscapes, views of suburban areas, and still lifes. In 1943, he was deported to a concentration camp. The date of his death is a matter of controversy; according to his family, the artist survived the war and died in 1956.
