Zygmunt Józefczyk (1881–1966) studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków under Leon Wyczółkowski from 1909 to 1910; he also studied at Jagiellonian University. He exhibited at the Society for the Encouragement of Fine Arts in Warsaw from 1911 to 1914 (Study, On the Run, At the Fair, Horse Dealer). Between 1912 and 1914, reproductions of his works appeared in magazines, including *Fairy Tale*, *The Artist’s Dream*, and *Sadness*. During the interwar period, he lived in Kraków. He was a member of the Association of Polish Fine Artists (ZZPAP) beginning in 1933. He exhibited in Kraków at the Artists’ House in 1921, at the Society of Friends of the Fine Arts in 1926, and at the ZZPAP premises in 1928 and 1939. The National Museum in Kraków holds two paintings (oils, signed) depicting Hutsuls; the National Museum in Warsaw holds *Horse-Drawn Sleigh*, 1922, oil, signed, and *Sleigh on a Country Road*, 1931, oil, signed; in private collections in Warsaw—*A Carriage in Front of a Manor House* and *A Peasant with Horses* (oils, signed).
