Unsigned. Plate No. 11 (numbered on the reverse) depicts a scene from Paradise.
The six-volume edition of The Divine Comedy, featuring one hundred illustrations by Salvador Dalí, was printed in a run of 3,044 pieces. Under the direction of master typographer Giovanni Mardersteig, forty-four pieces were printed at the Officina Bodoni in Verona on “Kaji Torinoko” handmade paper, , and 3,000 pieces were printed at Stamperia Valdonega in Verona on handmade paper by the Magnani brothers of Pesci. The engravings and plates were produced in Paris under the direction of Maestro Raymond Jacquet on Rives paper. Legatoria Torriani in Milan was responsible for the packaging.
