He gained great popularity for his views of old Warsaw, his illustrations depicting the lives of its residents, and his lighthearted scenes drawn with a light hand, full of humor and imagination. He illustrated classics of Polish and foreign literature. He also worked in theater, television, and film set design, and designed posters.
