He made his debut in the artistic arena as a caricaturist in the magazines "Chochoł" and "Liberum Veto." In 1905, he completed his education at the Académie Julian in Paris. He was a member of the Society of Polish Artists "Sztuka", the Vienna grouping Hagenbund, the Poznan "Dawn" and the Parisian Société Nationale des Beaux-Arts. Since 1925, he took over the chair of painting at the Cracow Academy.
