Biography
She came from an assimilated Jewish family. She attended school in Lviv and Vienna. She studied design at the Lviv State School of Industrial Arts. In 1922, she married the lawyer Ignacy Keil. She continued her art studies at the School of Fine Arts in Warsaw under, among others, Karol Tichy, Wojciech Jastrzębowski, Józef Czajkowski, and Tadeusz Breyer. During her studies, she focused primarily on sculpture. In 1929, she became a member of the “Forma” sculpture cooperative. She exhibited her works at venues such as the Institute of Art Propaganda. In 1933, she established her own metalwork studio. She designed approximately 400 functional objects, mainly silver-plated items. Warsaw-based companies—Norblin, Fraget, and Bracia Henneberg—produced cutlery and tableware based on her designs. During World War II, she ran a ceramics studio for two years. She most likely died at Pawiak Prison. In the fall of 2012, an exhibition of her works was held at the Copper Museum in Legnica.
