Galicia, including the city of Krakow, enjoyed considerable freedoms during the Partitions. By far the greatest of all three partitions. This is well reflected in this medal issued by M. Kurnatowski, the reverse of which reads:
FOR / THE GRANTING OF SELF-GOVERNMENT / THE RESTORATION OF THE MOTHER TONGUE / THE FOUNDING OF THE ACADEMY OF SKILLS / THE RESTORATION OF THE WAWEL CASTLE TO ITS FORMER GLORY / GRATEFUL POLACKS.
A rare medal.

A beautiful mirror.
Zinc?, diameter 36 mm, weight 12.25 g.
