Uniface Danzig municipal token from 1575, the so-called animal token.
Variety with accounting marks on the reverse. Seven-petal rosettes denote a specific sum of money, each flower most likely symbolized one week of work on the ramparts. The abbreviated date 77 on the reverse denotes the again use of the token in 1577, when intensified works were underway to fortify the city.
Obverse: in a rope border a cat lying over the waves, above it the abbreviated date 75 flanked by two five-pointed stars
Reverse: in a cord border between two seven-petal rosettes, the abbreviated date 77 (1577)
