Dominika Fedko-Wójs, (born 1992).
Yellow Still Life I 2013,
70x80cm acrylic on canvas
Painter of the young generation, graphic artist, designer. She lives and works in Krakow, Poland, and her paintings are rooted in still life and collage. They emerge from a strong observation of nature, from experiencing reality that resounds through structure, color combinations and internal tensions. Fedko-Wójs creates in the spirit of Pure Form, bases her work on higher metaphysical feelings, on sensations, on achieving unity in art. Dynamic brushstrokes juxtaposed contrastingly with focused parts of the painting are characteristic of her paintings. The artist's works can be found in private collections in Poland and abroad, and are beginning to sell in recognized auction houses. Fedko-Wójs in 2020 had a solo painting exhibition in Kazimierz, Krakow, and participated in several group exhibitions, including the National Museum in Krakow (art book), the Malopolska Garden of Art (photography). The animated film Masterclass, which she co-created, was, among others, the opening film of the 2018 Polish Film Festival in Gdynia. She received her Master of Arts degree after graduating with honors from the Jan Matejko Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow, Faculty of Graphic Arts. For her master's thesis, she received the Prize of the Society of Friends of Fine Arts exhibited at the Palace of Art in Cracow.
