Renata Macchi, *The First Samurai*, 70 x 100 cm.

A contemporary mixed-media painting, presumably acrylic on panel, titled *The First Samurai*. The work depicts a stylized samurai figure in extremely detailed and intricate armor, characterized by a rich variety of geometric patterns and relief textures that suggest the use of impasto techniques. The warrior wears a typical woven straw headdress and a partial mask, with a katana sword featuring a red hilt fastened to his waist and an unsheathed blade held in his right hand. In the foreground on the right, a black panther is depicted with fine brushstrokes that define the sheen of its coat and the details of its whiskers. The subject is set against a uniform, deep black background that accentuates the strong light contrasts on the metallic and textile surfaces. In the lower right corner is a painted red monogram, consisting of the stylized letters S and F superimposed on top of each other. The edges of the panel are finished in black, and the work is presented unframed.
