2013 is a classic vintage in Tuscany, in which the harvest, as in times gone by, took place in October. The result is a wine of traditional expression that provides a common basis for bottles from this vintage, on which, however, individual producers have built their own interpretations.
The 2013 Ornellaia is beautifully structured and smooth, appearing as a cohesive blend of all its components. The bouquet is quite ripe, with notes of dark forest fruits, tobacco and leather, where mineral hints of coastal terroir add freshness and character. Quite an airy vintage for the producer's style.
