Pauillac, 2ème cru classé
Comments
Chateau Pichon Baron is one of those estates that enjoys an interesting history of origins, a presence in the 1855 classification and is experiencing an exciting streak today, but had to go through many difficulties to finally prove to the world the quality of its wines. Pichon Baron owes a great deal to names such as the famous Michael Cazes and Christian Seely, as well as the AXA insurance group, whose investments allowed the estate to enter the world class level. Today, exceptional wines embodying the potential of the Pauillac municipality come from here.
The 2016 vintage is already a classic in Bordeaux and probably one of the best for Pichon Baron. The wine is beautiful, classic, elegant, cool, mineral, but how rich, sumptuous and juicy! What is most striking is the energy that makes the wine present itself almost effortlessly, lightly, and yet it has so much to show! Precision, balance, extraordinary length.
85% cabernet sauvignon, 15% merlot. Minerality like its neighbors in St-Estephe. The essence of cabernet. A marvel.
